THE LEARNING EXPERIENCE

New members complete a nine-month program that includes an opening retreat in the fall, a mid-year retreat in January and eight monthly day-long sessions. The focus is on subjects such as education, health and human services, human and race relations, government, justice, labor, business media and quality of life. А graduation dinner concludes each program year.

NEW MEMBERS

Leadership Mahoning Valley selects exceptional candidates who have demonstrated leadership talent in their fields as well as an interest in community activities. The Leadership organization attempts to provide a mechanism for those women and men with an effective network of community contacts.

MEMBERSHIP

New members of Leadership Mahoning Valley become part of a community resource – a resource of men and women capable of directing important activities in our community. The members have a greater insight into the functioning of the community’s major systems, a better understanding of their specific areas of interest and a significant number of new relationships with other leaders in their class, previous and subsequent classes and in the community at large. A membership directory and periodic functions help to maintain and expand these contacts over time.

THE APPLICATION PROCESS

Individuals who have demonstrated strong leadership qualities in their professional, civic or volunteer activities may apply directly or be nominated by their employer, Leadership Mahoning Valley members or others. The organization seeks a new member class that has demonstrated a commitment to community service.

TUITION

Leadership Mahoning Valley’s tuition fee is a training investment comparable to corporate seminars. Once accepted into the new member class, participants assume the responsibility for their tuition fees. Payment plans are available.
