NONPROFIT LEADERSHIP TRAINING
On Board! Board Training and Governance Academy is designed for both new and established board members and/or nonprofit leaders. The academy includes content from Charitable University, a new learning platform developed by the Ohio Attorney General’s Office, which provides tools on some of the most important elements in leading a charitable organization: board governance, governmental filings, financial operations and internal controls, filings and recordkeeping and fundraising.

2025 EVENT HIGHLIGHTS
In 2025, Leadership Mahoning Valley has offered a series of workshops that give nonprofit leaders and board members practical insights and resources to strengthen their organizations. We’re grateful to our presenters and participants for contributing to the success of these learning opportunities.
On Board! Board Training – Aug. 14
Guest speaker, Beth Short, director of charitable outreach and education for the Ohio Attorney General’s Charitable Law Section, shared her expertise on strengthening the nonprofit sector. With decades of experience as a nonprofit professional and leader, she brought valuable insight to local board members and nonprofit leaders.
Participants gained a clear understanding of nonprofit governance, board roles and effective leadership practices.
