WARREN, Ohio — Leadership Mahoning Valley will present its next Lessons in Leadership Workshop, “Communicate with Clarity” on Friday, October 16 from 8 a.m. until noon at The Grand Resort in Warren. “Communicate with Clarity” is designed to help professionals better understand their communication styles and develop strategies for communicating more effectively with others.
The workshop will explore a fundamental challenge in today’s workplace – we don’t all communicate in the same way, yet effective communication is critical to collaboration, productivity and strong working relationships.
Participants will learn about different communication styles, how those styles can help or hinder workplace interactions, and how to adapt, or “flex,” their communication style to better connect with others.
“Effective communication starts with understanding that people receive and process information differently,” said JoAnn Stock, President of Leadership Mahoning Valley. “This workshop will give participants practical tools they can use immediately to improve communication, reduce misunderstandings and work more effectively with colleagues and teams.”
Presented by Kane Learning, the workshop will include a personalized communications assessment for each participant. Prior to the workshop, participants will complete the assessment and receive a report identifying their communication style. The results will be discussed during the workshop and used as a foundation for exploring the different styles and how they influence the way people work together. The cost of the assessment is included in registration.
Topics will include:
- Communication Styles – Participants will explore their individual communication styles and gain a clearer understanding of the different styles and how they shape workplace interactions.
- Flexing Your Communication Style – Participants will practice adapting their communication style to better meet the needs of others.
The workshop will be held on Friday, October 16 at The Grand Resort, 9519 E. Market Street, Warren, with check-in and breakfast at 8 a.m. The workshop will begin at 9:00 and conclude by 12:00 noon, including a question-and-answer session, wrap-up and evaluations.
Registration is $75 per person, and includes breakfast, the workshop and a personalized communications assessment. A discounted $400 group rate is available for organizations registering six or more participants.
